Sun Doo Kim Died: 13-Aug-1950 Father: Mother: Grandmother Kim Occupation: Minister Very bright man. Became the Governor of a small city at 17 years old. Moved to a bigger city, Pyungyang(now Capital of North Korea) and became a Christian and attended University. Became a teacher, then went to seminary and became a famous minister in Pyungyang. He played an important part in the Korean Liberation movement for Independence. Some history or textbooks has his name noted as one of the leaders of that movement. |

Siung Nak Luke Kim Died: Spouse: Jung Ok Ruth Yoon Children: Young Kuk Paul Kim, Hyung Kuk George Kim, Jung Sook Grace Everett Kim, Nee Kuk Samuel Kim, Young Kuk Robert Kim, Young Sook Jean Murdoch Kim First Kim family to settle in USA. In S Korea, Luke was Dean of SoongSil University in Seoul. He came to Los Angeles and settled there in early 1940's. He started a first Korean church in LA-with his house next to the church building. Luke was one of the first ministers to go to North Korea to minister and take Bibles. Luke passed away in Los Angeles. Ruth lived with her daughter Grace after Luke passed away and she passed away several years later. |

Sept 17 same year (after being married for 17 days) he left his wife in Korea and went to United States to study. Alice planned to join him in USA and she was admitted to a college in USA but the Japanese would not let her go. 1937 Came to United States and stayed with his brother Luke Kim in Los Angeles. He learned to cook to get a job.
